Job Overview:
As a Carpenter at Prodigal Building Systems, you will play a pivotal role in our construction
projects. You will work under minimal supervision, taking on a more advanced role in carpentry,
and contributing your skills to ensure the successful completion of projects to the highest
standards.
Key Responsibilities:
● Carpentry Expertise: Execute a wide range of carpentry tasks with a high degree of
skill and craftsmanship, including framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry installation, and
more, following project specifications and blueprints.
● Supervision: Assist in supervising and guiding Carpenter I and apprentice-level
carpenters, providing mentorship, training, and oversight as needed.
● Project Leadership: Take on a leadership role within your carpentry team, working
closely with project supervisors and contractors to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient
project progression.
● Quality Control: Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of carpentry
work, making necessary adjustments and corrections as required.
● Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and solve complex carpentry challenges and issues
that may arise during projects.
● Tool Mastery: Proficiently operate a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment,
including advanced power tools, ensuring safety and precision.
● Material Procurement: Assist in ordering and tracking materials, as well as managing
inventory on the job site.
● Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations,
and lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
● At least 6 months of proven field experience as a carpenter, preferably in both residential
and commercial construction.
● Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
● Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and plans accurately.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
● Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
● Commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of safety regulations.
● High school diploma or equivalent
